Next to reputational risk, loss of highly confidential card data results in massive financial implications as several prominent cases have shown, e.g. TJX Companies. To secure the card business the leading payment card organisations founded the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

As a pioneer in security related topics DeuCS has been a member of the council right from the start. The council established the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) applicable to all parties involved in the card payment process. Although PCI DSS became obligatory not until September 2007, the DeuCS platform is PCI certified since 2004. Constituting the first European acquiring platform certified for 8 years in a row.
