Consumer-based fraud prevention

Consumer-based fraud prevention by Deutsche Card Services permits merchants to reduce fraud and non-payment risks by having consumer-specific data checked. Independent of the payment method, merchants are better able to gauge the non-payment risks in long-distance selling (e-commerce, MOTO).

The services are provided by the leading German supplier arvato infoscore and can be used directly via the Deutsche Card Services platform. Four services are available for checking address data, retrieving positive or negative information and conducting other checks.

Who needs consumer-based fraud prevention?

Consumer-based fraud protection is directed at all merchants who

  • want to address customers from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France or Belgium in long-distance selling.
  • want to protect their business better.
  • want to offer new customers a broad range of payment methods.
Reasons to choose consumer-based fraud prevention
  • Higher delivery ratios and lower internal handling costs thanks to correct address data.
  • Smaller number of non-payments as the existence of an address or person is confirmed.
  • Smaller number of non-payments as customers who are clearly unable or unwilling to pay are filtered out.
  • Lower follow-up expenses from dunning and debt collection procedures.
  • Efficient use of selling potential as payment methods are offered depending on customers’ risk profile.
  • Simple implementation thanks to easily comprehensible results.
